Claire Phoenix & Friends perform an evening of jazz and soul music. This regular evening sees Claire and members of her band occasionally joined by special guests.
Claire is well-known locally having appeared at many different venues and events. She is the 2010 jazz vocalist winner of the PureSolo competition in association with Jazz FM. She has performed at the Guardian sponsored Hay Festival, Hampton Court Palace, Spice of Life, London, The Hilton Group and Princes Hall, Aldershot to name a few.
Claire leads her own eponymous band The Claire Phoenix Band and is an aspiring singer-songwriter in her own right. Daughter of professional musicians with three years vocal training and a wealth of experience singing and performing her voice has been likened to Roisin Murphy (Moloko), Karen Carpenter, Eva Cassidy and Julie London and her original music to Portishead. Claire also works as a singing tutor.
She is currently recording her debut album which is scheduled to be released in Spring 2011.

I'd hugely enjoy coming back to
play at one of your swing nights - do keep me in mind if you ever need a
band. I play at a lot of vintage dress up and dance nights in
London, doing hot swing versions of pop hits, which always fill the floor.
And I must say I like a bit of swing dancing myself from time to
time..!
